POSTPONED
Limpsfield Trust Charity Dinner
The charity dinner scheduled for March 7 is being postponed. If you had expressed an interest in attending, we apologise for any inconvenience. The venue requires a minimum number that wasn't quite achieved, however, we hope to reschedule the event for later in the year.
Join us for a wonderful evening of good food, musical entertainment and a trip down memory lane with old friends.
Date: Postponed
Venue: Reigate Grammar School, RH2 0QS
Time: 7pm
Tickets: £45 a ticket
Nearest Station: Reigate or Redhill, both around 1 mile away.
Accommodation: If you would be travelling from a distance away, there are local hotels that can be recommended - and probably old friends who have a spare bedroom or two.
These photographs will likely put a smile on your face. As the years fly by, it is getting on for half a century since some of us made friends and learned about the deeper things in life, at the Limpsfield summer camps. For some it may be a more recent experience, but we might all agree that these were extremely formative times. For some of us, building the foundations of faith that have been central to our lives ever since, for others, they were perhaps times of fun, exploring faith, and making friendships that have lasted for life. Whichever category you fall into, this is an invitation to a fund-raising dinner, prepared by a Michelin restaurant-trained chef, some live music, lots of fun and a trip back down memory lane.
Since Kenneth and Mary Habershon set up the Limpsfield Trust in the 1970s, houseparties have continued in a variety of locations, and now at an increasing number of times of the year. The Limpsfield Trust continues as a charity, employing staff to focus on recruitment, training, leader support and administration and enabling young people to still experience these foundational, often faith-forming camps by subsidising those who couldn’t otherwise attend.
However, as you will be aware, the cost of hiring boarding school facilities and providing hundreds of meals during these Ventures has escalated, putting pressure on household budgets. In order to continue investing in and developing our Ventures programme, the Limpsfield Trust does need a little financial support. Therefore, the fundraising dinner will offer a double benefit. Firstly, to get together with old friends and hear a bit about the impact the Limpsfield Trust has had over the decades, and what it continues to do today - particularly in the training up of young leaders. Secondly, to raise funds for the trust so that their work can continue on, into the future.
The Reverend Paul Peterson, whom some of you may remember as a teenage Limpsfield member in the 1980s, has now been ‘principal’ for the Danehill Ventures for more than a decade, under the umbrella of the Limpsfield Trust. He will be speaking about the 11 plus years in this role and he will also introduce some recently trained young leaders, who are excited to share their experiences with those attending the dinner, too.

There are a number of ways in which you can support the work of The Limpsfield Trust.
Donate via Just Giving
Give directly to The Limpsfield Trust on our ‘Just Giving’ page. You can donate directly by giving a one-off donation or set a monthly contribution, or even set up a fund raising activity yourself.
Donate via text
You can now donate by text (you can only give these amounts: £1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10 - up to a maximum of £30 a day ie 3 x £10).
Text ‘LIMP12 £5’ to 70070 to give that amount to the Trust.
You can even gift aid it – just follow the reply text you will get. It will be charged to your mobile phone bill in the normal way, and 100% of your donation comes to us and the text messages are free to send on all networks!
Giving a regular donation by standing order
Long term regular giving is most cost effective. It enables us to plan for the future and ensure that money is available where it is needed most. Regular gifts mean a consistent, predictable income so we can plan and budget better and, therefore be more efficient.
There are also benefits for you – the giver. Once you have set up a regular gift we do not have to contact you so often to ask for your support. Regular giving also provides you with the reassurance that you are actively helping to support the current and future work of the trust.
A standing order is an instruction you give to your bank or building society to authorise a payment for a set amount, usually on a regular basis. On the day specified, your account will be debited and the money transferred to ’The Limpsfield Trust’.
A standing order amount will remain the same, unless you amend your instruction. Standing order payments are transferred through the Faster Payments Service, and will be processed on the same day.
Donate by Cash
You can donate by cash at the Anniversary event itself.
Gift Aid
If you are a UK tax payer you can increase the value of your donation by completing our online Gift Aid declaration form.
Donate by leaving a legacy
Leaving a Legacy, gift or charitable bequest is a distribution from your estate to a charitable organisation through your last will and testament.
A gift to the ’The Limpsfield Trust’ is taken out of your estate before inheritance tax is assessed. By making a bequest you could reduce or avoid tax and know that you are helping to enrich the lives of young people after your death with the money bequeathed. Depending on the current tax laws, leaving a gift to The Limpsfield Trust in your will may reduce the estate tax burden on your heirs. There are two ways in which you could leave a gift to The Limpsfield Trust:
Residuary Bequest
You can leave the residue of your estate to The Limpsfield Trust, whereby all that is remaining in your estate after other bequests, debts and charges are cleared is passed on to us.
Pecuniary Bequest
You can specify an amount of money to be paid once your estate is settled. Please seek professional advice from a solicitor or financial advisor when making or amending a will. They will help you with the correct wording for your legacy.
